It feels wonderful to go to bed and really rest. This morning I woke up with a total peace of mind rested and ready to “get her done”.
As I was cleaning up and starting my audio book, as usual I started thinking , at this moment, about all the audio books my husband and I have listened to. Who ever came up with this brilliant way of reading a book is BRILLIANT. And I’m quite sure books on tape is probably 100 years old, I didn’t learn about books on DVD/cd’s until maybe my 2nd year driving OTR. We would check them out of the library 30 at a time. then we figured out that we where able to download the book and listen to it 10 hours on long highways like I-80 west. There was nothing out there to see but dirt or snow depending on what month we were in. And no more changing disc.
The first year on the road with my husband was a crazy miss. me learning to ropes of driving all day. And the second year, OMG, can only be described with words I stay not to say any more. When we found audio books at the public library the days went by so much easier, quicker and with a lot more excitement . I’m sure by the time we realized their where books on audible for our cell phone we had leaned to over 6000 books. Audible saved my marriage. Really if did 0r at the least it helped. Thank you Audible.
Any who. I have a lot of favorite authors. So while I’m getting my house work done this morning I thought about what gave me the idea to become a professional photographer? It was a audio book. Their was a character , a woman with a camera , a big inheritance, no kids, no husband and a gift for finding trouble. I remember saying to my self ” can I be like here”? I had just received my cannon that year , if memory serves me correctly. I have always enjoyed taking picture of everything. I was so happy to have my canon because my cell space was getting very low with all the books and pictures I’ve taken and downloaded. It was time to learn how to take quality photos. So with my new camera and a huge desire to lose the extra weight , setting on my butt driving , eating and listening to books on tape it was time to get out of the truck a few hours a day to walk and explore the open road in a new way.
I’m happy to be home. Being able to watch my family grow but there are some days I wish I could just get in my car and hit the road for a week or two. Then reality hits and I start planning to take a trip. A road trip could be just what I need.
